The Wylder
About This Spot
Stepping into The Wylder on Boise’s West Broad Street, you immediately sense a warm, inviting rhythm that’s both unhurried and alive with quiet energy. It’s the kind of spot where the hum of conversation swells gently around the clink of glasses, and the aroma of wood-fired pizza mingles seamlessly with the earthy notes of craft cocktails. The atmosphere is relaxed yet thoughtfully curated—a neighborhood gathering place that feels familiar without ever being predictable.
The pace here encourages lingering, whether you’re settling in for a casual weekday lunch or unwinding after a long day with friends. The light filters softly through large windows, touching the rustic yet modern touches that give the space a comfortable authenticity, the kind where you might find yourself returning just to reconnect with the understated charm and genuine warmth of the staff.
Food at The Wylder is an experience rooted in care and craftsmanship, where each bite reflects a careful balance of thoughtful sourcing and playful creativity. The sourdough crusts carry the gentle tang of a decades-old starter, forming a crisp foundation for toppings that move beyond the predictable, inviting curiosity rather than conformity. The menu flows easily from vibrant salads and housemade ricotta to hearty, comforting dishes like lasagna and fried chicken, with a sprinkling of seasonal twists that keep every visit feeling fresh.
Drinks, too, are an integral part of the story here—seasonal cocktails built on bold flavor combinations, a thoughtfully edited beer selection, and wine options that complement the menu’s intentions. Whether you're drawn to a citrus-hued mezcal creation or a robust bourbon cocktail, each drink invites a moment of pause and enjoyment that feels personal and unhurried.
The Wylder is a place where familiar flavors meet unexpected details, wrapped in an atmosphere that encourages connection both to the food and the people around you. It’s local warmth without pretense—a quiet gem that quietly stakes its claim as a cherished spot to discover, savor, and return to.

VERDICT: Best pizza in Boise, especially if you're dining in. FOOD: I will admit I was skeptical of sourdough pizza, but this place has a very mild sour and the flake and crisp of the crust provides a second-to-none foundation for the excellently sourced and blended flavors they top it with. Their carefully curated options prevent the normal, boring ruts of meat lovers or supreme, and instead offer excellent takes on new flavors. Their salads are also to die for, with a peak freshness and bright flavors blending into the deeply rich dressing. I highly recommend the salad with the pizza. SERVICE: Always top-notch. Quick, attentive service without conversational interruptions. The staff know their menu well and can offer insights as well. ATMOSPHERE: Pretty swanky for a pizza place but I appreciate it being elevated from your standard pub fare to where it sits here-- a matured pizza experience.

A hidden gem in Bosie. The food is truly amazing, the pizza is handcrafted with care. A gourmet experience at a reasonable price One of my favorite places!

Stopped by The Wylder recently for lunch and was really impressed overall. I went with the fried chicken sandwich and paired it with their house salad. The sandwich was crispy and flavorful, with a nice kick from the spicy mustard & apples and a soft bun that held everything together. The house salad was fresh and well-dressed—a perfect light balance to the richness of the sandwich. Portions were generous, and everything came out looking appetizing. Service stood out as a highlight here. Our server was friendly, attentive, and quick with refills and check-ins, which made the meal feel easy and relaxed. Even though the place was busy, we never felt rushed or overlooked. Atmosphere-wise, The Wylder has a casual vibe but is spotlessly clean and comfortable. The decor is modern but not over-the-top, and it felt like the kind of spot you could hang out in for a while. All in all, a great spot for a casual meal downtown. Solid food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to try more of the menu! —Visited May 2025

We came to this restaurant perhaps expecting too much. Service was great considering the busy lunch hour, wine was good, water tasted very clean and fresh, and the sourdough was excellent :) Unfortunately, the toppings on the pizza were disappointing. The Margherita pizza was oversalted, and the mushroom pizza was sopping wet. I don't think I'll go back, at least not for the pizza.

Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had! Easily our favorite restaurant in Boise. The Honey Badger white pie is unreal. They use a 57-year old sourdough starter for the pizza and it shows. Get a side of ranch to dip the crusts in. The buttermilk market salad was also a great starter. We didn’t get the Bronco pie or fried chicken, but if we’re back in the area, this will be our first stop. Dessert was delicious, but we were so full we only had a bite each. Good to go with a group.

I took my entire family to this restaurant because my aunt had gifted me a gift card for my recent birthday. The food and service here were excellent. The meatballs were giant, and they made their own tomato sauce fresh. The Harissa Wings tasted like a fresh, slightly spicy orange chicken. Their in-house ranch is also delicious. My adult son, who never likes ranch, loved it here. My friend enjoyed the cauliflower and chickpeas best. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce was tasty. The pizza we liked best was the honeybadger and yaya's house. They also made a great pepperoni pizza (two of my son's don't like to adventure with their food). It is pretty spendy, but you get what you pay for- fresh ingredients that take time to prepare. The parking is difficult, but that's pretty typical for downtown Boise anyway. We all enjoyed our late lunch here.

On a work trip to Boise and we were told about this hidden gem! Great quality food and tasty drinks. All the food pics are half eaten - bc the food was that good!! I ordered the Italian meatballs and the cauliflower with chickpeas for my appetizers. The meatballs came with fresh sourdough bread and a great marinara sauce for dipping. I ate every last bite of both appetizers. Then I ordered a pizza to go. 1/2 honey badger and the other 1/2 was a seasonal selection. Again, the pizza did not disappoint. I took it for lunch the next day. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. The wait was two hours when we arrived and they did not take reservations. We opted to sit in the bar to experience Wylder! Definitely would recommend if you so happen to be in Boise, Idaho!

Such a great pizzeria in the heart of Boise. It’s been on my list for a while now and I finally got to stop by. Cool city vibe without being pretentious. Excellent hosting and table service. I came with lots of questions and our server nailed every one of them. The salads and appetizers are bursting with flavor and thoughtful preparation. And the sourdough pizza crust is made with skill and love. Light, crispy, tender and digestible. A real gem. They have won best pizza in Idaho, and for good reason. I do think their prices were a little low for the quality they served up, but I won’t complain. Great jobs Wylder! I’ll be back.
